Museums
Besides the well-known museums such as the Rijksmuseum and
the Van Gogh museum there are hundreds of mostly smaller museums
in the Netherlands. Many of these started as private collections,
for example the Museum of Bags and Purses, the Perfume Bottles
museum and the Bottleship museum.
You will also find various World War II museums where one
may gain a clear insight into Operation Market Garden and
the famous film "A bridge too far".
The oldest museum in the Netherlands, the Teijlersmuseum (1780)
possesses a special collection of physical instruments, fossils
and minerals.
For those interested in astronomy the Eise Eisinga Planetarium
is a "must", and lovers of Roman antiquities should
not fail to visit the Museum"Het Valkhof".
Last bot not least the Kröller-Müller museum in
a national park in the middle of the country, with a large
Van Gogh collection and an extensive sculpture park.
